Jawan box office collection day 9: Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan is already the third highest grossing movie of the year. After nine days, Pathaan's collections stood at Rs 364.15 crore, which is Rs 37.73 crore less than Jawan.

Shah Rukh Khan starrer Jawan is ruling the box office at the moment. The Atlee directorial released in theatres on September 7 and recorded the highest-ever opening figures in the history of Hindi cinema as it made Rs 75 crore. Now, the film has been in the theatres for over a week and on its ninth day, the Shah Rukh Khan film raked in Rs 21 crore, as per industry tracker Sacnilk.


The start of the working week wasn't as generous. On the first Monday, the movie saw a steep decline of nearly 59% in its earnings, managing to secure only ₹32.92 crore. The downward trend continued through the week, with the film netting ₹26 crore and ₹23.2 crore on the first Tuesday and Wednesday. The second Thursday brought in ₹21.6 crore, showing a modest decline of 6.9% from the previous day.


The total for the first week stood at a robust ₹389.88 crore, and early estimates for the second Friday indicate an additional ₹21 crore, taking the grand total to ₹410.88 crore.

Directed by Tamil filmmaker Atlee, 'Jawan' released worldwide on September 7 in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The high-octane action thriller also features Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi as well as Deepika Padukone in a special appearance. 'Jawan', a father-son story at its core, highlights various social and political issues through its hero, essayed by Shah Rukh. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra, Priyamani, Girija Oak, Sanjeeta Bhattacharya, Lehar Khan, Aaliyah Qureshi, Ridhi Dogra, Sunil Grover and Mukesh Chhabra as well as Sanjay Dutt in a cameo appearance.

A Red Chillies Entertainment presentation, 'Jawan' is produced by Gauri Khan and co-produced by Gaurav Verma. The film is a commercial entertainer and features SRK in a double role. The film was shot in Pune, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Rajasthan and Aurangabad. Anirudh Ravichander composed for the film, and made his debut as a solo composer in Bollywood.
